Update da Semana por Steve Rennie

Pra quem não estava online, o Steve acabou de dar um 'preview' do SWU e quem estava pode ver o show completo no IWHQ, mas quem não viu, não se desespere pois em breve o video estará disponível no site.


E como de costume, abaixo o update da semana que passou por Steve Rennie.

Se eu aprendi alguma coisa no mundo dos negócios, é que é preciso e um bom time para algo grande acontecer. E tentar fazer algo grande, é um grande trabalho. Maior do que qualquer pessoa pode lidar com toda velocidade. Mas acontece que, quase por acidente, eu encontrei muita gente nova para se juntar a nós e nos ajudar no Incubus Team.

Esta semana nós fenos enterrados pelo ritmo das coisas, como a banda prepara o lançamento de seu novo álbum "If Not Now When?" em 12 de julho. E eu descobri que as pessoas realmente gosta desses 'Updates Semanais', de modo que eu, inadvertidamente, acrescentei mais uma coisa a minha lista de coisas a fazer quando eu mal posso passar por aquilo que eu já tenho. 

Então, sem dúvida, vou fazer o que sempre faço. Eu vou encontrar alguém para me ajudar a fazer o trabalho. Vou delegar a tarefa. Neste caso, estou delegando a nossa amiga Ms Lauren Clay. Ela não só é uma excelente escritora, ela já meio que está fazendo o trabalho por procuração. Ela é a fã Incubus, que faz anotações sobre o Morning Briefing. Então, esta vai ser fácil. Esta é a semana de atualização da Lauren com algumas pequenas edições e correções. Obrigado Lauren.

Há algo a ser dito sobre as forças da natureza, algo a ser varrido por uma coisa que vai apontar um passado sem volta, onde a energia o leva muito além de onde você nunca pensou que iria. Essa semana, eu tenho a sensação de que estamos em pé do lado da montanha, e a avalanche está vindo para nós. Não ela não nos atingiu, mas é muito tarde para sair do caminho e o nosso único recurso é ficar aqui e ver o chão tremer e esperar que ele nos arrastará. Ou talvez eu só estou muito animado com o que está acontecendo aqui. Mas se de alguma forma você perdeu tudo o que está acontecendo nos permita abastecê-lo.

Segunda de manhã eu vi um pequeno clip das filmagens do vídeo de 'Adolescents' que foi filmado no dia anterior com o diretor Brantley Gutierrez, que revelou não só uma quantidade desenfreada de energia proveniente de Mike Einziger, mas também o reaparecimento do PRS Hollowbody que ele havia leiloado através da Make Yourself Foundation.

Terça-feira, ficamos sabendo que as rodas da máquina Incubus começaram a girar e vai levá-los a divulgação do 'If Not Now, When?' na imprensa para as revistas 

Nylon e Spin e uma sessão de fotos na próxima semana para o Billboard Music Awards, em Las Vegas.

Quarta-feira, claro, foi o videochat com Ben Kenney aqui no IWHQ. Apesar de algumas dificuldades técnicas com o Skype, a conversa correu muito bem e Ben gostou da oportunidade de ter contacto com os fãs e responder algumas perguntas sobre o novo álbum, seus projetos pessoais, e mais além. Desafiando seu bom senso, Jose concordou em falar no videochat e a roleta do Skype, na quarta-feira 04 de maio. Comecem a escrever as perguntas para ele no fórum.

Na quinta-feira Mr. Boyd compartilhou uma nota pessoal com todos os fãs do Incubus sobre a inspiração da banda e direcção do álbum, uma carta impressionante, nãos pela sua intensidade, mas sua densidade e honestidade, como Brandon falou sua opnião sobre o novo álbum da única maneira que pode. Sua caneta é sua Pistola.

Na sexta-feira, 'If Not Now, When?' ficou disponível para pré-venda no www.enjoyincubus.com ao redor do mundo graças ao belo trabalho de nossos amigos na Sony Music. Ele está disponível em vinil e CD e deverão estar disponíveis em moeda local para os fãs de Incubus com fome ao redor do mundo. The Direct to Consumer da Sony vem trabalhando duro para fazer este álbum o mais acessível possível para os fãs de todo o mundo. Nas próximas semanas vamos ver algumas formas de melhorar ainda mais a oferta.

No fim de semana, a seção de 'Tour' do IWHQ entrou em movimento. Para aqueles que não olhou lá, pode valer a pena dar um passeio - especialmente para os fãs da Alemanha. Segunda-feira vai ver um anúncio oficial e mais detalhes sobre as pistas que estão escondidas em todo o calendário de eventos.

O calendário está começando a encher. A avalanche está definitivamente no caminho. Como dizem, o pássaro adiantado pega a minhoca, você nunca sabe o que vai acontecer aqui no IWHQ. As coisas estão se movendo na velocidade do som e aqueles que não estão prestando atenção podem perder, mantenha os olhos abertos. Piscou, e você perde uma batida. Obrigado, Ren.

If I've learned one thing in business its that it takes a great team to make something great happen. And trying to do something great is a really big job. Bigger than any one person can handle at full speed. But it turns out that, quite by accident, I've found lots of new folks to join us  and help us on Team Incubus. This past week we've all been buried under the pace of things as the band prepares the launch of their new album "If Not Now, When" on July 12th. And I've found that people really like these Weekly Recaps, so I've inadvertently, added one more thing to my to do list when I can barely get through what I already have.

So, when in doubt, I'll do what I always do. I'll find somebody to help me do the job. I'll delegate the job. In this case I'm delegating to our friend Ms Lauren Clay. Not only is she a fine writer, she has already kind of been doing the job by proxy. She is the Incubus fan who takes notes on the Morning Briefing. So this one was a no-brainer. There's something to be said for forces of nature; something about being swept up in something that goes past a point of no return, where the energy of it carries you far past where you ever thought you'd end up.  I kind of have the feeling this week that we're standing on the side of the mountain and the avalanche is coming for us.  It hasn't quite hit us yet but it's too late to get out of the way and our only recourse is to stand here and watch the ground shake and wait for it to sweep us away.  Or maybe I'm just very excited for what's going on here. But if somehow you missed all that is going on allow us to fill you in.

Monday morning saw the airing of a small clip of the filming of the Adolescents video which had been filmed the day before with director Brantley Gutierrez, which unveiled not only an unbridled amount of energy from Mike Einziger but also the reappearance of the custom PRS Hollowbody he'd once auctioned off via the Make Yourself Foundation.

Tuesday we learned that the wheels of the great Incubus machine have started the turning which will carry them along the support for If Not Now, When? with upcoming press releases prepared for Nylon and Spin magazines and a photoshoot in the upcoming week for the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

Wednesday, of course, was Ben Kenney's video chat here on Incubus World Headquarters.  Despite some technical difficulties with Skype, the chat went very well and Ben enjoyed the chance to connect with the fans and answer some questions about the new album, his personal projects, and beyond.  Against his better judgement, Jose has agreed to walk/talk the gauntlet of video chat and Skype roulette, on Wednesday May 4th. Start posting questions for him on the forum. 

On Thursday Mr. Boyd shared a personal note with all the INCUBUS fans about the band's inspiration and direction on this album, a letter which was impressive not only for its mass but its density and honesty as Brandon spoke his mind about the upcoming album in the way only he can. His pen is his pistola. 

On Friday, If Not Now, When? became available for preorder from www.enjoyincubus.com around the world thanks to the fine work of our friends at Sony Music.  It is available on both vinyl and CD and should be available in local currency to hungry Incubus fans around the world.  The Direct to Consumer team at Sony has been working hard to make this album as accessible as possible to fans across the globe. In the coming weeks we will come up with some ways to sweeten the offer even more. 

Over the weekend, the Tour section of the HQ got a little bit of a workout.  For those of you who haven't looked at it, it might be worth taking a stroll through--especially for fans in and around Germany.  Monday will see an official announcement and further details posted concerning the early easter eggs that got hidden around the events calender.  

The calendar is starting to fill up.  The avalanche is definitely on its way.  As they say, the early bird gets the worm, and you never know what will happen here on HQ.  Things are moving at the speed of sound and those who aren't paying attention might miss out, so keep your eyes open.  Blink, and you miss a beat.
