Leilão - partitura de 'Promises, Promises'

Quando o horrível tsunami atingiu o Japão, ficamos em choque, tristes. A banda e nós aqui no escritório entramos rapidamente em contato uns com os outros, para tentar descobrir como poderíamos chegar a uma maneira interessante de angariar fundos para ajudar. Nós tivemos uma ideia que parecia ser uma ideal para arrecadar dinheiro: crie um item, uma partitura musical de "Promises, Promises" - e leiloar, e todos o lucro vão para a Cruz Vermelha japonesa (via MYF).

Mike, sozinho, passou mais de 20 horas escrevendo essa partitura. Em seguida, Brandon, escreveu a mão a letra, e no fim Jose criou artes incríveis por cima. Toda a banda autografou a folha principal, então eu levei tudo até uma pequena loja em Los Angeles, onde eles fazem livros legais para filmes em Hollywood.

E estará em leilão por mais seis dias. Divirta-se! - Jake.

When the horrific Tsunami hit Japan we were left in awe, shock and sadness.   The band and we here in the office were quickly in touch with each other trying to figure out how we could come up with an interesting way to raise money for the relief efforts.   We came up with what seemed like a great way to raise money: create a one-of-a-kind item- a musical score to "Promises, Promises" - and auction it with all proceeds going to the Japanese Red Cross Society (via MYF).
Mike single-handedly put over 20 hours of writing into it.  Brandon then went through the finished score and hand-wrote his lyrics in.   Lastly, Jose came up with some bad-ass artwork to top it off.   The guys autographed the title sheet, then I took it all over to a unique book bindery...a small shop in L.A where they do lots of cool books for the movies in Hollwood...and they hand bound the pages. 

It's currently up for auction and will be for another six days.  Enjoy! Jake

Update da Semana

Pra quem perdeu as novidades da semana, aqui vai a tradução do semanal Update, que o Steve publica. 

Segunda - O Incubus anunciou que estará no Jisan Valley Rock Festival dia 31 de julho na Coréia do Sul. Você pode ver mais detalhes sobre o show no site do festival. Além desse show, o Steve também falou que podem haver shows mais 'intimistas' em Berlin e Londres em junho, e talvez na area de Los Angeles. Fiquem de olho no IWHQ para mais informações.

Terça - vimos o começo, inevitável, de reviews sobre o novo álbum. A Spin Magazine, publicou um review, com algumas fotos da banda no estúdio onde o álbum  foi gravado, você pode ver aqui. Também ficou disponível o review (que o Steve já havia comentado) da DJ Nicole Alvarez da rádio americana KROQ, grande fã do Incubus, link aqui.


Quarta - O Steve falou sobre como será para quem quiser falar com o Jose por video (via Vokle) no videochat dia 04/05 (próxima quarta). Aqui os detalhes do que precisa ser feito. 


Quinta - o clipe de Adolescents foi lançado mundialmente (no site do Vevo). Pedimos desculpa por alguns problemas que impediram alguns fãs na Austrália e Alemanha de ver o video, mas parece que esses problemas já foram resolvidos. Na quinta também foi lançado um aplicativo para celular Android, aqui. O aplicativo, está funcionando com uma versão mais enxuta, e aos poucos serão adicionadas mais coisas. Também está sendo desenvolvido um aplicativo para iPhone.


Sábado - Mike Einziger apareceu no HQ para compartilhar a partitura da música Promisses, Promisses.  Ele também compartilhou um pequeno vídeo no qual ele explicou que ele e a banda estão ansiosos para ouvir as versões dos fãs da música. A partitura original, foi escrita à mão pelo próprio Mike e a letra escrita pelo Brandon (também à mão). Essa partitura será leiloada pela Make Yourself Foundation, num futuro próximo (detalhes em breve) e a renda será destinada para ajudas ao Japão. Apesar de alguns desvios, algumas mudanças de plano, as coisas ainda estão rolando. Como 'Burn's mouse', nós vamos tocar e nos apresentar, sem olhar para trás com arrependimento, nem para a frente com o medo. Existem ainda grandes coisas por vir; o passeio ainda não acabou, e ainda promete ser diferente de qualquer um antes dele. Fique por perto.

On Monday, Incubus announced that they were confirmed for a concert in South Korea on July 31st at the Jisan Valley Rock Festival, extending their Pacific Rim tour by an additional day.  Details on the concert can be found here at the Jisan Valley Rock Festival’s website.  Along with the announcement of the show in South Korea, Renman indicated that ‘intimate’ shows are in the works for Berlin and London in June, and perhaps something in the Los Angeles area a bit later.  Keep tuned to the World HQ for confirmation on those locations, dates, and how to get access to them.

Tuesday saw the beginning of what will inevitably be many press released related to the new album.  Spin Magazine released an online article featuring photographs from Incubus’ studio work on If Now Now, When? as well as a short interview with Brandon Boyd, which can be read here.  Later on Tuesday Nicole Alvarez, DJ at Los Angeles radio station KROQ and long-time Incubus fan, posted her review of the album If Now Now, When? which Rennie had previewed for her a few weeks ago.  Her review can be found here, on KROQ’s website.

Wednesday, Renman expanded the graphics contest for Jose’s video chat from simply an advertisement banner to graphics meant to customize the Volke site that will be used on May 4th for the vidchat itself. The specifications can be found here, and the competition will run until Tuesday the 3rd. Winners of the banner and graphics competition will have a chance to speak face to face with Mr. Pasillas during the video chat on Wednesday.

The video for "Adolescents" is now available for viewing around the world. We apologize for some of the logistical issues that prevented some of our fans in Australia and Germany to see the video but it looks like those issues have been solved. http://www.vevo.com/watch/incubus/adolescents/USSM21100790.  


Also on Thursday, Jake Versluis released the Incubus World HQ app for Android phones.  The current app is a bit of a stripped-down version which he hopes to add functionality to gradually; the app for iPhone is currently in the process of being reviewed by Apple’s app people and should be approved for installation soon.  You can find Jake’s blog post about the app here. 


Early Saturday morning Mike Einziger snuck onto HQ to release the musical score for the new track Promises, Promises. He accompanied the release of the score with a short video in which he explained that he and the band are looking forward to the fans’ interpretations of their new song. The original copy of the score, which was handwritten by Mike and had the lyrics added in by Brandon (also by hand) will be auctioned off by the Make Yourself Foundation in the near future. Details to follow shortly. Proceeds will go to the Japan Tsunami relief efforts. Mike’s video and the copy of the score can be found here.


Despite some detours, some kinks in the plan, things are still rolling along.  Like Burns’ mouse, we let only the present touch us, neither looking backwards in regret nor forwards with fear.  There are still great things coming; the ride isn’t over yet, and it still promises to be one unlike any before it.  Do stick around
